API Oil-Water Separator
DS21’s patented American Petroleum Institute (API) Oil–Water Separator is a device specifically designed to separate substantial amounts of oil and suspended solids from wastewater effluents of oil refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical plants, natural gas processing plants and other industrial sources of oily water.
Its name originates from its design standards, published by the American Petroleum Institute (API 421). These separators are often used in the pretreatment of refinery wastewater contaminated with oil and oily sludge. The API separator effectively removes free oil particles larger than 150㎛ as a pre-treatment step. These separators can also be equipped with VOC containment covers in fixed and floating styles.
