Corrugated Plate Interceptor Oil-Water Separator

Corrugated Plate Interceptor (CPI) is the most utilized oil-water separator, leveraging the specific gravity difference method to separate oil and sludge from oily wastewater.

It employs multiple slate or corrugated plates, or enhanced oil separation plates, arranged either slanted at a 45° angle or horizontally. This configuration directs the flow from the top to the bottom, effectively increasing the separator’s horizontal surface area without necessitating a larger basin.

Treatment Method

By slanting the corrugated plates at a 45-degree angle, oily water is separated due to the difference in buoyancy between oil and water

separate oil and sludge from oily wastewater with the CPI Oil-Water Separator

Process

  • Oil contaminated wastewater passes through inlet section
  • Oil is separated by buoyancy
  • Sludge moves to bottom of the separator
  • Mixture results in clean water separation
