Nutshell Filter
The DS21 nutshell filter effectively eliminates free oil and suspended solids from oil field-produced water, refinery wastewater, and various water sources including steel mill direct spray and caster water, ethylene plant quench water, copper concentrate decants and cooling water. This method is highly efficient in treating suspended solids, oily residues, ash and metallic hydroxides from industrial liquids produced by petrochemicals and other industries. Nutshell media, being resistant to heavy oil surges, experience significantly less fouling compared to other media. Additionally, this media is easy to clean and rarely requires replenishment, typically only 5-10% annually.
Features
Features
98% Removal
98% Removal of Suspended Solids and Oil more than five (5) microns
media Filter
Down flow, deep bed media filter charged with walnut shells
Fluidization
Fluidization process that strips oil contaminates and suspended solids from the shell media, utilizing a lower volume of filters than competing filters
Standalone
No rotating equipment or external device
Replenish Media
Typical replenishment of media is 5-10% annually
Reduce Costs
Reduction of capital costs of the unit as well as footprint by using internal scrubber
STATS
Performance
Under normal operating conditions, filtration rates of 90-95% of suspended solids and 90-95% free oil are achieved without the use of chemicals.
